Say goodbye to 2024 with a bang—literally. 

Looking for the perfect way to ring in the New Year with fireworks and festivities? We’ve rounded up the best events across North Carolina, listed in order of their countdown to midnight to kick off 2025 in style.

  1. Pickle Drop in Mount Olive

When: December 31, 2024 | 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Where: University of Mount Olive, 634 Henderson Street, Mount Olive, NC 28365  

Get ready for a dill-lightful evening at the 25th Annual Pickle Drop! This quirky tradition includes live music, food trucks, and free pickles. The famous pickle drops into its jar at 7 p.m. sharp, followed by a fireworks display. Don’t forget to bring a canned food donation for the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC in order to be entered into a raffle for a pickle-themed grand prize.

  1. Burgaw Blueberry Drop

When: December 31, 2024 | 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Where: Fremont Street, 100 S Wright St, Burgaw, NC 28425  

Celebrate New Year’s Eve at the 7th Annual Blueberry Drop in downtown Burgaw. Enjoy live music, delicious bites from food trucks, and a spectacular fireworks display to end the evening. Oh, and be sure to bring your chairs or blankets for the ultimate viewing experience in this family-friendly atmosphere.

  1. Egg Drop in Nashville

When: December 31, 2024 | 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.  

Where: The Nashville Junction, 723 S. Barnes St., Nashville, NC 27856 

Crack into the New Year with the Egg Drop hosted by Braswell Family Farms. This egg-citing event features a countdown at 7 p.m. with live music, food trucks, games, face painting, and fireworks. It’s perfect for families, and it’s a playful and unique way to celebrate.  

  1. First Night Raleigh

When: December 31, 2024 | 2 p.m. – 12 a.m.  

Where: Fayetteville Street and other downtown Raleigh areas  

Raleigh’s First Night event is the ultimate downtown celebration. Enjoy live music, amusement rides, and art installations. Don’t miss the 7 p.m. early acorn drop with fireworks, or stick around for the midnight fireworks finale after the iconic acorn drop. Advance tickets start at $13 until the 25th, making it a festive and affordable option. After the 25th, the prices will then increase to $16.

  1. Island of Lights Celebration at Carolina Beach

When: December 31, 2024 | 9 p.m. – 12 a.m.  

Where: Carolina Beach Avenue S & Harper Avenue, Carolina Beach Boardwalk, Carolina Beach, NC 28428 

Ring in the New Year with a DJ, dancing, and a giant beach ball drop at Carolina Beach. This free family-friendly event offers refreshments, NYE hats, and noise makers for purchase. Stick around for the midnight fireworks to start 2025 with a bang.

  1. Greenville’s Emerald Drop 

When: December 31, 2024 | 9 p.m. – 12 a.m.  

Where: Greenville Town Common, 105 E. 1st St., Greenville, NC 27858

Celebrate the New Year at Greenville’s Town Common with live music, a beer garden, and the Emerald Drop at midnight. The event is free and a great way to have a family-friendly festive night filled with fireworks and fun.  

  1. The Bash at Hatley Pointe

When: December 31, 2024 | 6:30 p.m. Dinner or 9 p.m. Bash  

Where: Smoke & Timber, 578 Valley View Cir, Mars Hill, NC 28754

For a sophisticated celebration, head to Mars Hill for The Bash. This ticketed soirée features live jazz, dinner, champagne toasts, and a stunning fireworks display. Tickets start at $125, so dress to impress and enjoy an elegant evening.  

  1. CLT NYE at Light The Knights

When: December 31, 2024 | 10 p.m. – 12 a.m.  

Where: Truist Field, 324 S Mint St, Charlotte, NC 28202  

The party this year will look a little different because Charlotte’s official NYE party is moving to Truist Field! With ice skating, live music, and a breathtaking fireworks display, this family-friendly event is the perfect way to ring in 2025. Tickets start at $10, so grab yours early!  

  1. New Year’s Eve Celebration at Appalachian Ski Mountain

When: December 31, 2024 | 9 p.m. – 12 a.m.  

Where: Appalachian Ski Mountain, 940 Ski Mountain Rd, Blowing Rock, NC 28605 

Celebrate with a mountain view! Appalachian Ski Mountain hosts its annual NYE bash with skiing, snowboarding, and fireworks at midnight. Whether you’re hitting the slopes or cozying up by the fire, it’s a magical way to welcome the new year.  

  1. Beech Mountain Fireworks

When: January 1, 2025 | 12 a.m. – 1 a.m. 

Where: Beech Mountain Ski Resort, 1007 Beech Mountain Pkwy.

Beech Mountain, NC 28604  

Cap off your New Year’s celebrations at Beech Mountain. Watch the midnight fireworks from the village by the fire pits or just outside at the lodge. With food trucks and a DJ setting the mood, it’s the perfect way to extend the festivities into 2025.
