One of the few commonalities I’ve found talking to North Carolinians in every corner of the state is they hate being lied to.
That may sound like a “no duh” statement, but sometimes we need to say it out loud. Because this time of year, with elections approaching, some politicians tend to forget it.
Cardinal & Pine’s Dylan Rhoneyreported recently on a widely distributed political ad that falsely attempts to connect North Carolina Senate candidate Roy Cooper to a murder that happened in … South Carolina.
That hasn’t stopped the people behind the ad from running it anywhere and everywhere they can in NC.

Monday night was a scary one in Asheville.
A fire caused the evacuation of the western NC city’s distinctive Flat Iron Hotel. No one was injured, and they’re still trying to determine what caused it.
But let’s all get a little smarter about this iconic building, where it came from, what you can find there, and why it’s so fascinating to look at.
