How to take action against Flock surveillance cameras in NC

The rise of Flock cameras has become a major discussion in communities across the country, with many local governments canceling their contracts. Here are ways you can make your voice heard.

Aug. 16-22 marks the National Week of Action Against ALPRs [automated license plate readers].

Concerned North Carolinians can sign this petition from Demand Progress calling on Congress to stop Flock cameras.

Many people don’t realize that Flock cameras are located in their communities. Click this link to find out if there are Flock cameras and other ALPR devices in your neighborhood.

DeFlock has listed 13 events across North Carolina where members of the community can take action as it relates to Flock cameras and other forms of ALPR cameras.

Within the state, some law enforcement officers have misused Flock cameras. A Mooresville police officer was arrested in early August for using the Flock system to track her boyfriend’s ex-wife 31 times.
