Video: Lawmaker says NC losing thousand of educators a year over low teacher pay

Thousands of public school teachers are expected to attend a rally in Raleigh on Friday to protest dismal pay.

North Carolina pays its teachers less than most other states in the country, and North Carolina State Rep. Brandon Lofton, (D-Mecklenburg County) said that the state is losing huge numbers of teachers every year, including several at his son’s high school.

Lofton explained the problem this week at the NC General Assembly.
