Over the weekend, the heads of US companies leading the advancement of artificial intelligence called for a global slowdown and increased regulations on the development of AI.
Their comments came just days after a former employee of Anthropic said many in the AI industry believe it is possible that AI “could kill us all by the end of the decade.”

In Raleigh this week, North Carolina resident Camille Kauer talked to Cardinal & Pine about AI. She called for more regulation of the AI industry while attending a press conference hosted by the state Democratic Party.
NC Democrats criticized the stock holdings of Republican US Senate candidate Michael Whatley, including investments in the data centers that help power artificial intelligence.
