NC A&T student says lack of campus voting sites a ‘modern-day poll tax’

Shia Rozier is a student advocating for voting sites at NC A&T State University and other college campuses.

Rozier spoke at the North Carolina Executive Mansion earlier this week as Gov. Josh Stein (D) vetoed a bill that would cut back early voting dates and allow ballots to be challenged up to three days after Election Day.

“Early voting helps people, and specifically young people, exercise their constitutional right to be able to vote, and that should be protected and not restricted,” Rozier said.
