Debra Anderson-Farmer, a Wake County public schools employee who helps transport children with disabilities to and from school, was one of more than 10,000 educators and public school supporters to attend the May Day protest in Raleigh on Friday.
North Carolina’s teachers and support staff are among the lowest paid in the country, and because Republicans in the General Assembly have still not passed a budget, educators have gone without a raise for more than two years.
