Video: Durham mayor Leo Williams on supporting data center moratorium


Communities across North Carolina have passed moratoriums against data centers in recent months.ย 

Durham Mayor Leo Williams tells Cardinal & Pine he supports a moratorium on large-scale data centers, and instead hopes to recruit businesses that will โ€œbecome part of our fabric.โ€

Last year, Durham successfully recruited AbbVie, an Illinois-based biopharmacy company to the city. Williams said the companyโ€™s new Durham site will create 800 jobs for Durham residents.
