Recently, US Rep. Valerie Foushee, a Democrat who represents NC in Congress, pressed White House science adviser Michael Kratsios over Trump’s voluntary “Ratepayer Protection Pledge,” which promised to lower electricity costs as AI data centers expand.
Kratsios first claimed the pledge had stopped data center-driven price hikes, then admitted he did not know whether new data centers were even complying.
