‘Now is the time’ to speak up against tariffs, says NC lawmaker

This week, tariffs on Canadian goods in the US and reciprocal tariffs from Canada on American imports took effect.

The tariffs could have an outsized impact on North Carolina, where 20% of exports are sent to America’s neighbor to the north.

US Rep. Deborah Ross, a Democrat who represents NC’s 2nd Congressional District, opposes President Donald Trump’s tariff policy. Recently, she met with small business leaders in her district who have been impacted by tariffs, and told them not to be shy about speaking up on the issue.
