Pastor Loran Livingston of Central Church in Charlotte pushed back on Christian nationalism, saying, “There has never been a Christian nation, and never will be.”
His comments come as several prominent Republicans, including Josh Hawley, Mike Johnson and Lauren Boebert, have argued that Christianity should play a larger role in American government.
Some have also embraced or defended ideas associated with Christian nationalism.
