On Tuesday, North Carolina Democratic Party Chair Anderson Clayton blasted Republican US Senate candidate Michael Whatley for his investments in Duke Energy and companies pushing for data centers in the state.
Clayton says that she has seen her own power bills skyrocket as Duke Energy is pushing for higher utility prices at the North Carolina Utilities Commission.

“Michael Whatley is running to represent us right now in the United States Senate, but the truth is he’s only looking out for himself. A big oil lobbyist doesn’t know anything about representing the people of North Carolina,” Clayton said.
