The fallout from North Carolinaโ€™s 12-week abortion ban continues to be felt nearly a year later. Rep. @juliefornc of Wake County told Cardinal & Pine she has spoken with a doctor who is having second thoughts about staying in North Carolina when their two-year fellowship ends because of the state’s abortion restrictions. โ€œWeโ€™re losing people who came here because of our amazing universities and our healthcare systems, and then theyโ€™re leaving,โ€ von Haefen said. North Carolina, like other states across the country, is experiencing a serious shortage of primary care physicians.
