More than 12,000 NAACP volunteers are getting out the vote in NC’s Black communities

In an exclusive interview with Billy Ball Explains NC, the NAACP says it has recruited more than 12,000 local volunteers to get out the vote in North Carolina’s Black communities.

That’s a staggering number.

In a new Billy Ball Explains NC, we break down why this is different from most election get-out-the-vote campaigns, especially the kind typically run by political parties and candidates.

We also explain the brewing backlash among Black voters following the dismantling of the Voting Rights Act and the Trump-ordered partisan gerrymandering that upended NC’s only predominantly Black Congressional district.
