If you’re looking for end-of-year events, we’ve got you covered with 5 ways to celebrate, including bar crawls, skiing, and gala events.

New York may be the national hub for New Year’s Eve celebrations, but North Carolina has a ton of ways to bring in the New Year with friends, family, and champagne!

Bar Crawl

Our biggest cities, Charlotte and Raleigh, have all types of bar crawls for you to bring the New Year in with. However, if you’re sticking close to home and want to start a tradition, you can always gather some friends and put one together customized for your town!

NYE at WinterFest

For Carowinds, the festivities carry through the New Year with their special NYE WinterFest event. From 5:00 pm-12:30 am families are welcome to start the year off with rides, live music, ice skating, and multiple New Year’s countdowns for all ages to enjoy.

Ski Lodge NYE Party

Whether or not you can ski, North Carolina has some great lodges with some pretty cool events this month (skis not required).

Beech Mountain  and Sugar Mountain resorts each have New Year’s Eve events for all ages including fireworks, silent discos, and countdowns for the family, at the ski village, or at the brewery. And of course, there will be lots of skiing.

City Countdowns

If you’re staying local this New Year’s, your city’s version of a ball drop could be the perfect outing! Greenville has their emerald, Raleigh is known for the acorn, Charlotte lights their crown, and Carolina Beach has a very fitting beach ball drop along to go with their beachside bash!

NYE Gala

Cities across NC will be hosting the huge celebrations for the New Year. In Raleigh, Rocky Top Catering is hosting a gala at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. Charlotte will host a roaring 20s themed Gatsby’s Gala at The Music Yard and there’s much more to find throughout the state!
