We all agree it’s hot outside – and in Forsyth County they’re taking cool down efforts seriously.
This summer has been ridiculously hot.
We’ve had record breaking temperatures, a heat wave that some are calling a “heat-season,” and at one point the Atlantic Ocean might as well have been a hot-tub.
Forsyth County is combating the heat with Operation Fan Heat Relief.
While supplies last, the Forsyth County Department of Social Services, is distributing free electric fans to eligible residents who are 60 years and older, adults receiving disability income, at risk of heat related illness.
To receive a fan, apply using one of three methods:
- Call Forsyth County Department of Social Services at (336) 703-3501
- Submit a request on the online form.
- Scan this QR code.
If you or someone you know outside of Forsyth County is in need of an electric fan, check the resources available with your local Department of Social Services.
