US Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina called for Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to be fired recently over her handling of the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis.
Noem called Pretti a domestic terrorist immediately after he was killed, but all video evidence showed Pretti, a VA nurse who was legally authorized to carry a gun, never took it out of it holster before he was shot at least 10 times.
Tillis is one of a small group of Republicans who have called for Noem to be fired. North Carolina’s other Republican senator, Ted Budd, did not criticize Noem by name but called for an investigation of the shooting.
