The top NC Democrat in the state House of Representatives had some sharp words to say about Republicans’ new gerrymander.
The NC House recently voted to enact a new Congressional map that will make it virtually impossible for an incumbent Democrat to win re-election.
At a protest against the maps on Tuesday, NC Rep, Robert Reives, the NC House Democratic minority leader, said that Republicans’ rush to gerrymander while dragging their feet on a new budget or Medicaid funding shows where their priorities lie.
The General Assembly passed the maps, but then left town with no budget or Medicaid funding. They are unlikely to return the rest of the year.
