Imagine being in your kitchen, cooking breakfast for your siblings, and getting them ready for school, only to have the FBI break down your door, looking for someone who doesn’t live there anymore.
That was Allison Bustillo Chinchilla’s experience on Feb. 20, a day that changed her and her family’s life forever. Bustillo Chinchilla, a nursing student, has spent the past five months since that raid in ICE detention at a private prison in Georgia.
In an interview, Allison’s mother, Keily Chinchilla of Charlotte, spoke out about her daughter’s detention, described the events of Feb. 20, and shared concerns for her daughter’s health.
“They are treating her worse than a criminal. She is very sick, and I need her to return home soon,” Chinchilla said.
