ICE raids in North Carolina have created a climate of fear in the immigrant community, says one NC woman who joined recent ‘No Kings’ protests.
Mindy Lemus joined thousands of other North Carolinians in marching against the Trump administration last week. The ‘No Kings’ protests brought out millions of Americans across the country who protested Trump’s treatment of immigrants.
Lemus says that Trump’s policies have created a climate of fear. “I think there is a huge fear of violation of due process…it’s not sacred anymore,” she said.
