2024 Veterans Day deals and freebies

On Veterans Day, November 11, many restaurants and retail stores across the US offer free and discounted items to veterans and active-duty military personnel. 

From meals at Applebee’s, to free donuts at Dunkin’, to 15% off at IKEA, these deals are a small token of appreciation for your dedication and service to the country.

Below, we’ve outlined a handful (yes, just a handful, there are that many deals available) you can enjoy on Veterans Day. We’ve also included some helpful info on anything you may need to receive the discounted or free item, such as your military ID.

Restaurants/Food:

Applebee’s: Veterans and active-duty military can receive a free meal (from a select menu) on November 11 at participating locations. This is available as a dine-in only deal.

Bonefish Grill: Veterans and active-duty service members receive a free order of Bang Bang Shrimp with a soft drink on November 11. You’ll need a valid ID to claim the freebie.

Bruegger’s Bagels: Veterans and active-duty military receive a free iced or hot coffee (any size) with a purchase on November 11. Available in-store only.

Buffalo Wild Wings: Veterans and active-duty service members will get 10 free boneless wings and fries with a valid ID on Veterans Day. Available for dine-in or, if you’re ordering from a Buffalo Wild Wings GO location, it’s also available for walk-in/orders placed at the counter.

California Pizza Kitchen: Veterans and active-duty military members receive a free meal (from a select menu) on Veterans Day. You’ll also get a BOGO offer for a pasta, salad, or pizza that can be redeemed on a future visit between November 12 and November 25, 2024. 

Chili’s: Veterans and active-duty military members can receive a free meal on November 11 at all participating restaurants. This offer is only available in-restaurant for select items. You’ll need your military ID to redeem the offer.

Cracker Barrel: Veterans and active-duty service members will get a complimentary Sunrise Pancake Special at all locations. This offer is only available for dine-in. Also, from November 1 to the 11th, Cracker Barrel is offering 25% off military-themed apparel in-store and online.

Dave & Buster’s: Veterans get a free entree (up to $20) and a free $10 Power Card (the card you need to play games) on November 11. You’ll need a valid veterans ID card to receive the entree and Power Card.

Denny’s: Veterans and active-duty military personnel can get a free Original Grand Slam on November 11 from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. You’ll need to show a valid military ID or a DD214 to redeem.  

Dunkin’: Active-duty and retired military personnel get a free donut on November 11. It’s limited to one per guest while supplies last and it’s only available in-store. It’s not available through On-the-Go Mobile Ordering or the Dunkin’ Mobile App.

Firehouse Subs: On November 11, veterans and active-duty military receive a free medium sub with the purchase of a medium or large sub, chips, and a drink. You must show your military ID to redeem. 

Friendly’s: Veterans get a free All American Burger with cheese and a beverage, on November 11. This deal is only available in-restaurant from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. You’ll need to show your military ID or honorable discharge document to receive the deal.

Golden Corral: Golden Corral hosts their Military Appreciation Night on November 11 from 5 p.m. until closing time. This includes a free “thank you” meal when you’re dining in.

IHOP: Veterans and active-duty military receive a free Red, White, and Blueberry Pancake Combo on November 11 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. This is available dine-in only at participating restaurants.

Little Caesars: On November 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., veterans and active-duty military receive a free Lunch Combo, which includes four slices of Little Caesars signature Detroit-style Deep Dish pizza and a 20-ounce beverage.

Ninety Nine Restaurant and Pub: On November 11, from opening to 5 p.m, veterans and active-duty military personnel receive a free lunch from the Veterans Day menu with the purchase of any entree.

Olive Garden:To thank members of the military for their service, Olive Garden offers those who dine-in on November 11 a complimentary entrée from a special menu.

Outback Steakhouse: On November 11, active-duty military and veterans get a free Bloomin’ Onion and beverage with the purchase of an adult entree in-restaurant.

Red Lobster: Veterans, active-duty military, and reservists receive a free Veteran’s Shrimp & Chip–featuring six Walt’s Favorite Shrimp, served with cocktail sauce and ketchup, plus crispy French Fries and Coleslaw–on November 11. You’ll need to show a valid military ID or proof of service to redeem. It’s only available for dine-in orders. 

Red Robin: Veterans and active-duty military personnel can receive a complimentary Red’s Big Tavern Burger and Bottomless Side at participating restaurants on November 11. Offer only available for dine-in.

Texas Roadhouse: At select locations, active-duty military and veterans can dine-in or receive a meal voucher on November 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. You’ll need a form of military ID to receive the deal. These vouchers are good for dine-in or carry out at a later time, and they’re good until May 30, 2025. If you dine-in on November 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m, there will be a specific menu to choose from.

TGI Fridays: Veterans and active-duty military personnel receive a free meal on November 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. from a select menu.

Wendy’s: Veterans and active-duty military get a free Breakfast Combo (no purchase required) during breakfast hours on November 11 at select locations. This can’t be combined with other offers or discounts. Not valid for digital, delivery, or kiosk orders.

QDOBA: On November 11, veterans and active-duty military members receive 50% off any full-size entrée. This is available in-restaurant only at participating locations, and you’ll need  a valid military ID at checkout.

Retail deals:

Ashley Furniture: Veterans and active duty military members receive 10% off any purchase at participating stores.

Food Lion: On November 11, veterans and active duty military personnel save 10% on in-store shopping purchases, total, before taxes. This offer excludes alcohol (wine and beer), tobacco, lottery, gift cards, pharmacy, postage stamps, and services. You have to show your military ID and use your Food Lion MVP Card at checkout.

IKEA: From November 10-22, veterans and active duty service members (with a valid ID) receive 15% on in-store home furnishing items, up to $3,000 before tax.

Kohl’s: Active duty service members and veterans, along with their families, receive 30% off qualifying in-store purchases throughout Veterans Day weekend. Valid military ID is required for the deal.

Macy’s Veterans Day Sale: Veterans Day deals on select items in-store and online.

Office Depot and OfficeMax: Veterans, active duty military members, and retired military personnel, reservists, and their dependents receive 25% off qualifying regular and sale-priced purchases. Available in stores nationwide November 11 to 13. You must present a valid military ID, military dependent ID, or form of Veteran ID at the time of purchase.

Publix: Offering 10% off purchase items.

Rite Aid: From November 10 to 12, customers with a valid military ID (or proof of service) are eligible for 15% off regular-priced items at any location. You must also be members of the Rite Aid Rewards program. In-store purchases only.

Samsung: Veterans, active duty service members, and their families can save up to 30% off.

Target: Through Nov. 11, all military personnel, veterans, and their families can receive a two-time use storewide 10% discount with a Target Circle offer. This is valid both in-store and online.

Additionally, if you’re a Target Circle Cardholder, you get an extra 5% off and free shipping on top of the Target Circle Bonus.

To receive the offer, you need to create or sign in to your Target account, join Target Circle (free to join), and then verify your military status. After you’re verified, you’ll receive an exclusive, two-time use 10% off Circle Bonus offer that’s available to use through November 11.

If you’ve verified your military status in the past, the Circle offer will be loaded into your account automatically.

Walgreens: From Friday, Nov. 8 through Monday, Nov. 11, veterans, military, and their families receive 20% off regular price eligible store items at any Walgreens or Duane Reade drugstore nationwide.
