‘No Kings’ is over, but here is how you can still get involved in North Carolina

Across North Carolina, there are opportunities to get involved in your community and make a difference in the aftermath of the ‘No Kings’ protests. From in-person town halls to virtual events, there is something for everyone. 

Following last week’s ‘No Kings’ rallies, North Carolinians have countless opportunities to take action in their communities. Across the state, listening sessions, protests, voter registration events, and advocacy opportunities are available in a town near you. 

Are you looking for ways to advocate for public schools, learn about what is on the ballot this fall, and how they will impact you and your family, or just trying to figure out how to get involved locally? There are opportunities for all of this in communities across North Carolina.

Friday, April 3

Community Visioning: Listening and Reimagine I-77 Expansion (12:00-1:30pm)

Advance Carolina is hosting a community listening event to discuss future infrastructure plans in the community and how past urban planning impacted communities.

Engaged Defenders for Democracy – ICE Is Not Welcome Here! Cary ICE Office (9:00 am-11:00 am)

Join peaceful protesters in Cary as they stand on the sidewalk on the corner of Evans and Centrewest Court to protest ICE policies against immigrants outside of their local offices.

WCI Presents: A Conversation about the state of public education with NCAE (10:30am-12:00pm)

Hosted by: Wake County Indivisible, North Carolina Association of Educators

Attendees will hear from organizers about the current state of Wake County Public Schools, as well as some of the key issues facing teachers and students.

Guilford County Indivisible – Rage Against the Regime (11:00 am-12:00 pm)

Join Guilford County Indivisible for a Saturday protest against the Trump administration in Greensboro.

Register People to Vote at the North Asheville Tailgate Market (8:00-10:00am) and (10:00am-12:00pm)

You can register people to vote in Buncombe County this Saturday. Two shifts are available from 8:00-10:00am and 10:00am-12:00pm

The Market at the NC Museum of Art (11:00am-4:00pm)

Hosted by: Triangle Pop-Up and the North Carolina Museum of Art

Support local artists at a pop-up art festival on the first Saturday of the month! The North Carolina Museum of Art is free to visit in addition to the opportunity to support local art.

Southern Sundays for Peace: Rocky Mount (12:00-2:00pm)

Tell Fayetteville City Council: Data Center Moratorium NOW! (6:15pm)

Fayetteville Freedom For All is asking members of the community to speak out against data centers at the City Council Meeting on Monday April 6th.

Enough Should Be Enough Listening Tour! (7:00-9:00pm)

Following the No Kings rallies, Siembra NC is hosting a series of listening tours where attendees can learn about how to reach voters and prioritize public schools and healthcare over ICE funding.

Red Wine and Blue will be hosting a virtual info session on the impact AI and data centers will have on local communities.

In this edition of a weekly peaceful protest, residents of Alamance County will be marching on Thursday, April 9 in support of democracy in downtown Burlington. 

Our Schools, Our Future: Durham Public School Family Gathering (5:45 – 7:30pm)
