A grassroots nonprofit is planning a concert to energize young voters. We talked to one of the organizers about why young people have to stay engaged beyond election season.

CAROLINADAZE, @carolinadazenc, is a brand new music and arts festival made of, by, and for young North Carolina. Powered by Common Cause North Carolina, @commoncausenc, the festival is a statewide initiative to boost voter registration, engagement, and educate people, particularly among Gen Z, about the influence they wield in both local and national elections.
The festival kicks off on Sept. 14 at Raleigh’s Red Hat Amphitheater, and is headlined by 10x GRAMMY nominee Janelle Monáe, alongside national artists like Tierra Whack, Moses Sumney, and Helado Negro, as well as North Carolina talents Lute and Elora Dash. The organizers added a second show happening Oct 13 at Asheville’s Salvage Station with more locations and artists to come!
With local leaders, nonprofits, and more joining in, this is far more than a concert—it’s a call to action.
