An airport that doesn’t make us crazy, some good news for the red wolf, and more reasons to raise your spirits.
One thing we’ve had enough of since the pandemic is trouble.
So we want to celebrate the things in North Carolina that are worth celebrating too, wherever we can find them. Which is why we’re launching a new weekly feature called Good News Fridays.
Here we’ll bring you a few tidbits each Friday that are making us feel the good vibes. We hope you feel them too.
- The Raleigh-Durham International Airport is ranked #5 for customer satisfaction at large North-American airports.
- There’s been a positive shift for the critically endangered Red Wolf population in North Carolina. Their numbers have gotten as low as 7 over the past decades but, as of last October, there are around 26 in the recovery area (protected area where they will have a chance to reach maturity and reproduce).
- NC Catch received a $25,000 grant to highlight the key roles Black fishers, chefs, wholesalers, and others have in the North Carolina seafood industry. The project will collect oral and video history as well as written narratives to increase public awareness.
Durham-based woman, Michelle Addison, is creating an app that would prevent harm and save lives for those who have food allergies or intolerances. With Allergood you create a profile with your dietary preferences and restrictions – then at partnering restaurants you’ll only see foods on the menu that are safe to eat!
