Across North Carolina, rallies against ICE, healthcare cuts, and the Trump administration are taking place across North Carolina.

Over the next week, North Carolinians have countless opportunities to get involved in their communities. Across the state, protests, sign making events for the upcoming ‘No Kings’ rallies, and advocacy opportunities are available in a town near you. 

Are you looking for ways to register voters, advocate for public schools, town halls focused on the issues impacting you and your family, or just trying to figure out how to get involved locally? There are opportunities for all of these activities in communities across North Carolina.

Friday, March 20

Engaged Defenders for Democracy – ICE Is Not Welcome Here! Cary ICE Office (9:00 am-11:00 am)

Join peaceful protesters in Cary as they stand on the sidewalk on the corner of Evans and Centrewest Court to protest ICE policies against immigrants outside of their local offices.

This 100% FREE mutual aid event in Winston-Salem is an opportunity to protect the environment, while also trading cool stuff with fellow community members.

Defending Care and Denying Crowns: Physician Week of Action (2:00-3:30pm)

Ahead of the anniversary of the Affordable Care Act on March 23rd, doctors and advocates are marching in support of affordable healthcare and against cuts to essential services North Carolinians depend on.

This training will help attendees navigate the uncertain times we’re living through, and help them identify what their role can be in this moment.

While enjoying lunch, Red, Wine & Blue’s new organizer in the Asheville area will meet with community members to discuss the 2026 election and issues impacting the community.

Everyone in the Wilmington area is welcome to join fellow members of the community in making signs ahead of the March 28th ‘No Kings’ protest.

Bethesda Parent Listening Session (5:45-7:30pm)

Carolina Federation is holding space for Bethesda Elementary Parents and caregivers to discuss what they want for their children and students in Durham County Schools. Attendees will learn how they can play a role in supporting local public schools.

Gen-Z and Millennial members of Indivisible CLT will be gathering to discuss local activism over food, drinks, and fun activities.

Buncombe County Town Hall (6:00-8:00pm)

Location: Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College (Ferguson Auditorium) – 340 Victoria Rd Asheville, NC 28801

Members of the community will have the opportunity to hear from Rep. Lindsey Prather, Rep. Eric Ager, Rep. Brian Turner, and Sen. Julie Mayfield as they discuss the issues facing Buncombe County, and the happenings at the General Assembly.

Alamance Hour of Action (4:00 pm-5:00 pm)

In this edition of a weekly peaceful protest, residents of Alamance County will be marching on Thursday, March. 26 in support of democracy in downtown Burlington.
