North Carolina Republicans passed a gun bill this year that essentially removes all permit, training and background check requirements to carry a concealed weapon. It also lowers the age requirement for concealed carry from 21 to 18.

Gov. Josh Stein vetoed the bill, but Republicans in the House could override the veto in the coming weeks if they can get just one Democrat to vote with them.

Becky Ceartas, the executive director of North Carolinians Against Gun Violence, told Cardinal & Pine that after other states passed similar laws, the number of gun homicides and suicides increased. Take a look.
