It’ll be the 15th time since 1961 that a NC tree will be the star tree. That’s more than any other state.

The 2023 White House Christmas tree will come from Cline Church Nursery, a family farm in Fleetwood, NC!

Every year, the National Christmas Tree Association (NCTA) has a contest where Christmas tree farmers compete for a spot in the Blue Room of the White House where presidents formally receive guests. Since 1961, North Carolina trees have made an appearance in the Blue Room 14 times– the most of any state!

Cline and Ellen Church started their nursery in 1974 on family farmland, they sold their first harvest of Christmas trees in 1981, and have since grown to a 500-acre tree farm. Their children, Amber Scott and Alex Church, have taken over the business and will help the White House select a tree from their farm on Oct. 9.
