This month honors the incredible contributions of Hispanic Americans. We’ve curated 6 ways to celebrate from Wilmington to Charlotte.

Hispanic Heritage Month is a month-long celebration of the culture and history of Latin Americans.

It means a lot in NC. More than 1 million Latinx people call North Carolina home, and they are the fastest-growing ethnic group in the state.

We know North Carolina. Sign up for our free, award-winning newsletter.

The month starts on Sept. 15 rather than the first to commemorate the independence days of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.

While there were several festivals in North Carolina leading up to the 15th, the celebrations are far from over.

Read on for 6 Hispanic Heritage celebrations to check out through the rest of the month.
