The “Dawson’s Creek” house in Wilmington, North Carolina is up for sale for the first time. Here are all the details.
“Dawson’s Creek” was one of the most popular television shows during its six-season run from 1998 to 2003. While the series was set in the fictional town of Capeside, Massachusetts, it was filmed along the shores and neighborhoods of Wilmington, North Carolina. Now, a recognizable element of that nostalgic backdrop is for sale for the cool price of $3.25 million.
James Van Der Beek’s character, Dawson Leery, resided in a sprawling home that showcased the beauty of Wilmington’s waterfront. That house, located at 6424 Head Road, is now for sale. According to the listing, the home features four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. It was originally constructed in 1880 and has been kept within the same family for the last 145 years. The listing does not indicate why the family has finally chosen to put the 2,465 square-foot property up for sale.
Speaking about the history of the home, Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage said, “It served as Dawson Leery’s home in all six seasons of the hit television series Dawson’s Creek. Its white façade, wide porch, and familiar dock became central to the show’s story, an instantly recognizable symbol of coastal life and coming-of-age nostalgia. Beyond its Hollywood legacy, this home has always been a gathering place for family and friends.”
If you’re interested in gathering your own family and friends here, let’s go over some additional details from the listing.
The “Dawson’s Creek” house includes a private pier that featured prominently on the show
The “Dawson’s Creek” home is actually located on Hewlett’s Creek in Wilmington, and is about 10 minutes away from Wrightsville Beach. It encompasses 1.7 acres of land, which includes magnolia, oak, and pine trees, as well as approximately 134 feet of waterfrontage. There’s a floating dock in addition to the private pier, and a wide, screened-in front porch.
Realtor.com notes that the property is being sold “as is,” and some renovations may be preferred or required. To check out the complete listing and schedule a viewing, click here.
